A Lime vertical shaft kiln, as the name implies, is a kiln with an upright shape for burning lime.

Lime vertical shaft kiln and lime rotary kiln have their own advantages and disadvantages:
1. The vertical kiln occupies a small area, and the heat consumption is relatively small. However, due to the complex structure of the kiln body, the materials are internally sealed and calcined, and the heating is uneven, and the product overburn rate is high. 
The sulfur in the fuel is easy to adhere to materials, and the sulfur content of the product will increase. And due to the requirements of the airflow and pressure in the vertical kiln, it is generally suitable for burning large pieces to ensure air permeability in the kiln.
2. The rotary kiln occupies a large area and has a large heat loss, but the kiln body is simple and has smooth airflow. It is open-type calcination, so the sulfur-containing flue gas can be discharged in time, the sulfur in the fuel is not easy to adhere to materials, and the sulfur content in the product is reduced. 
Because the material inside rolls forward uniformly, the heating is even, and the product activity is high. Moreover, the multi-channel burner of the rotary kiln is helpful to save energy. And the rotary kiln is suitable for a wide range of raw material particle sizes, especially suitable for burning small pieces of limestone.
3. The vertical kiln has good closure, low heat loss, and relatively low fuel consumption. The rotary kiln has a large heat loss due to the long body, but after the use of preheating and cooling technology, the heat energy can be used efficiently, and the fuel consumption has been increased, and the production cost of the product can be controlled.
